Report from George Markie
Anonymous Fife pensioner walking his dog near Letham reported seeing a large black animal like a "cross between a Labrador and a panther" on a farm road. The creature was seen at a range of fifty yards.
The witness said that he did not feel threatened by the animal and that it seemed to be "minding its own business". He also said that it was raining heavily at the time and the animal looked "totally miserable".
Thirty six hours earlier a black cat was sighted in Heatherall Woods, Ladybank and three weeks earlier a similar creature was seen on the shores of Lindores loch near Newburgh.
All these sightings are within 10 miles of each other.
