February Minto Estate, nr Jedburgh, Borders Leopard Cat Originally, from Edinbugh Zoo. Escaped from a collection in Cumbria in 1987 and shot by a gamekeeper months later

before 27 th May Fife Large cat, very straight, stiff forelegs, giant paws and tufty ears Seen on several occassions.

weekend before 27 th May nr Wormit, Fife Large cat with sharply pointed ears. Believed to be lynx by Tayside's Chief Conservation Officer Struck by car. Driver stopped and got out but drove off when the large animal struggled to it's feet. Several previous sightings.

June St Andrews, Fife Strange animal. Seen prowling in garden.

June St. Andrews-Anstruther road, Fife Large cat-like animal. Seen crossing road at night.

2 nd June by St Andrews, Fife Large cat, size of a Labrador, brown and black speckled, pointed ears. Seen by several witnesses. Two additional sightings in area.

7 th June Letham, Fife Larger than a fox, very dark coloured, thin tail. Crossed road in front of female driver and jumped wall. Cat-like movements. Possible previous sighting in area.

11 th June Ceres, Fife Lynx, size of keeshound, lovely colouring, beautiful black shading and a tail Watched at 15 yards for 25 minutes by witness. Frollicked and rolled on its back.

before 24 th June Wormit, Fife 'Mysterious big cat' Seen on trail near school.

July nr Culzean Catle, South Ayrshire Jet black, size of Labrador but sleaker, clearly feline in shape and pose, long flowing tail curving down towards the ground and back up at the end of the tail. 4-5 ft from head to tail, 2 ft high to head. Eyes like huge green emeralds Seen at 200 yards by two witnesses. Lept from hedgerow, landed in the middle of the road, paused for 3 seconds, looked at car then lept over hedgerow into wood

August Loch Ken, Parton, nr Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway Big black four legged animal, cat not dog. Muscular legs, glided effortlessly. Seen by dog walker at 7 am. "Football field and a half's length away". Crossed field and jumped dry stane wall.
