Report from Chris Smith
Date and Time: Friday 12th January 2007 at 1845hrs
Location: the small railway bridge in Cupar, Fife
Description: The cat was the size of a labrador, the sighting was at night but I saw the cat clearly and am 99% sure it was all black (like a panther!). It was sleek and muscular with a very long tail. it had a square shaped head. This was definitely not a dog or a domestic cat. And it walked right over the bridge from the direction of cupar and slunk off into the darkness of a field at the other side. I was coming from the opposite direction and I slowed down to get a clear full view of it.
Movement: quick, sleek, stealthy and cat-like
Noise: I stayed in my car so did not hear any noise but it did not look as though it was growling or making any noise
Duration: no more than 10 seconds
Distance: same level as it was right next to my car
Weather: dark
Evidence: none
Other witnesses: no
Reference: My partner looked on the internet to see if there had been any other sightings.
Additional: I am one hundred percent sure that what I saw was definitely not a domestic pet. It looked like a small panther.
