Report from George Redpath
I have had a Police W.L.O. contact me this morning regarding a possible sighting of a big cat near Blairadam Forest, Kelty, Fife. I do not as yet have full details of the sighting but a written statement is apparently on its way to me.
However the interesting thing about the sighting which was made by a farmer and his wife who have had several hens killed possibly by the animal is that they believe that the cat has an injury to a leg which is causing a limp.
The cat was seen near their farm and had difficulty getting over a fence. The couple were able to point out where the cat had eventually crossed the fence and a search carried out by the W.L.O. resulted in him obtaining a small sample of hair.
I have requested that the hair sample also be sent to myself and I will try to have it analysed as soon as possible.
Another point of interest is that there was a Courier reporter at the farm yesterday asking about the incident so we might all read about it tomorrows paper.
