Report from George Redpath
1 st September 2003
I was also notified of a second road kill only last night, although this had apparently happened in July.
A man driving his vehicle near Cowdenbeath had collided with a big cat and killed it. He was concerned that he would be in trouble with the police because of the incident and disposed of the body. According to him, the cat was 4' long, body length plus a very long tail, it was very dark brown in colour and had some black markings. It had an unusually large head and big teeth. He wrapped the body up and put it into a bag which he then dumped in a Council skip.
I had heard about this from a separate source a few weeks ago but couldn't find out any details until the witnesses friend made contact. The body has unfortunately been long buried in a landfill site. What an opportunity missed.
