Large dark coloured cat seen at Balmullo Quarry

Hi everyone,
This sighting was left on my answer machine last night. I intend to carry out a search of the area at first light.
About 1425 hours on Friday, 17/01/03, the witness was driving a truck along a track within the confines of Balmullo Quarry when a large dark coloured cat crossed the track in front of him and entered an area of dense gorse bushes.
He described the cat as being very dark in colour, black/brown, about 4' in length including a long tail which dropped towards the ground then turned up at the end. It had very pointed ears with noticeable black tips or tufts, and a white or grey face.
This is only a few hundred yards from where my daughter and I saw a similar cat in 1999, after it had been flushed from some gorse bushes by our dogs.
