Report from George Redpath via Mike Inglis
Around 8.40 am on 18/03/2002, a lady driving to her work, heading towards Kennoway on the Freuchie to Kennoway road encountered what she is sure was a Big cat.
As she drove through Drummy woods, just passed Rameldry Farm, she saw what she she states as a Black Panther on the road in front of her car.
The cat had a body length of almost 4 feet but looked to have a small head in comparison to body size.
She stated it looked similar in shape to a Greyhound but twice the size. She states it was bigger than an Alsation dog.
The cat was "slinking" over the road, stopped when she braked and looked at her before continuing into the trees on the opposite side of the road. The witness got to within 20 feet of the cat and is adamant that it was a Big Cat.
This sighting was initially reported to the Police whom forwarded it to George Redpath.
George Redpath has been down in this area but due to heavy rain and tree debris found nothing sufficient to report, but we will be monitoring this area over the next few weeks.
There have been several sightings in this area over the years including a pair of Black Cats in 1998.
