Report from George Redpath via Mike Inglis
About 5.15pm., on 3/03/2002, a lady and her 9 year old daughter watched two black cats hunting in a field opposite their home in Leuchars, Fife.
The cats both of which were jet black in colour appeared to beabout the size of Labrador dogs but with one slightly smaller than the other cat. The lady formed the opinion that they were male and female cats but agrees that they could have been a female with cub.
The most noticable feature was the ears which she described as being long and pointed, possibly tufted in appearance.
The daughter had noticed the cats first when she took her dog for a walk. She came back into the house as apparently the cats, which had been close to the house at this time "Growled" at the dog.
Unfortunately they were unable to give a clear description of the cats tails other than the fact that they "hung down".
The mother stated that by the time she saw the cats they were in fairly long grass and making their way across a field towards the main Rail line. This rail line borders the arable farm where one of George Redpath's sons found a hair sample on a fence. George Redpath has stated that there have been no livestock on the land for years.
