Report from George Markie
There has been correspondence in the Reader's Letters column recently on the
subject of big cats. A reader responds to the letters of A.B. Fuchter of
Monifieth by saying, "As one who was equally sceptical of the presence of big
cats, I can understand his thoughts on the subject.
"However, having encountered a large black cat myself on the outskirts of
Carnoustie in broad daylight, I can assure him that my sighting was very real
indeed. I was very close to this animal and it was certainly not a dog,
whether Newfoundland, Great Dane, Labrador, or any other, as I am very
familiar with dog breeds. Without any doubt, it was the most beautiful
feline."
