Report from George Redpath
Hi everyone,
Here are a number of sightings sent to me from various sources including our local police.
9.
About 2.35p.m., on 17/11/02, male witness was walking on the north east side of Cupar, Fife, when he saw a very large cat walking in a field near to Dalgairn Steadings, Cupar. He did not get a clear view of the cats head as it seemed held low but the cat stopped moving forwards and lifted its tail vertically upright for a few seconds. He took this to be the cat urinating into the bushes. The tail appeared to be about 3/4 the body length and fairly thick. He describes the cats body to be of at least "Labrador length" but appeared slimmer and jet black in colour. The witness watched the cat through binoculars for some time as it walked in the field. He later examined the area where the cat was seen going through the fence and into the farm steading and stated that the grass at the entry area looked trampled as if frequently used.
Where possible I have examined the areas of sightings, however because of the time lapse between the sightings and me being notified, and also the weather factor, nothing useful has been found. The police had also carried out enquiries/searched at many of the locations.
