Report from George Redpath
Hi everyone,
Here are a number of sightings sent to me from various sources including our local police.
7.
About 0630 hours on Sunday, 27th October, 2002, a female witness was walking her dogs on a cleared forest track in Pitmedden Forest near Auchtermuchty, Fife. Suddenly her dogs ran into the undergrowth and flushed out a black, sleek looking cat which had a body length of about three feet, and a long tail. The cat ran across the track in front of her and into the undergrowth on her left. She was afraid for her dogs as the cat was bigger than them, and called them back before they could give chase.
Where possible I have examined the areas of sightings, however because of the time lapse between the sightings and me being notified, and also the weather factor, nothing useful has been found. The police had also carried out enquiries/searched at many of the locations.
