Report from George Redpath and Mike Inglis
First saw the cat on 14 th December at 7 pm. On this occasion it wasnt agressive and seemed to be stalking something as she had a view for 5 mins before it dissapeared.
Cat was on the first occasion described as black, bigger than a lab, low to ground with a prominant long tail and rounded head.
Second sighting in almost same locus.
Witness again walking her dog, this time on Dysart Beach near to garage site.
About 6.50 p.m., on 17 th Jan 2002, she noticed that her dog was concerned about something near the garages. She looked up and saw the same cat standing watching her. She moved away and the cat walked along parallel with her at a distance of about 30 feet. She stopped and the cat stopped and snarled at her before turning away. She took her dog off the lead and it ran off in a different direction away from the cat.
This second sighting lasted about 10 minutes. She found her dog back at home obviously very frightened although she describes her dog as a fighter always willing to chase other dogs and cats.
