Farmers are guarding their flocks round the clock after a mystery beast slaughtered a dozen sheep. The savage animal ripped apart 11 lambs then ate a ewe in a barn near St. Andrews, Fife.
Last night farmer Bill Carswell said: "The injuries were too severe for a fox or a badger." Worker Stuart Lironi added: "People say that a lynx has been on the loose in this area for around four years.
