TAYSIDE'S MYSTERIOUS big cat reappeared at the weekend in Gotterstone area.
Mr Lee Mason got the fright of his life when something he says resembled a black panther ran across his path.
Mr Mason, a self- employed bricklayer was walking home through the quiet park area between East Craigie and Gotterstone, towards his Tarves Park home, early on Saturday when he saw what he described as a large black animal moving at incredible speed.
"It was too long to be a dog or a cat and: it moved very quickly.
"When it spotted me it took off it was all over a matter of seconds."
Mr Mason called the police when he got home.
"At first I was too shocked to speak and I hardly slept last night for thinking about it it was the strangest thing."
The incident comes after a string of reported sightings of big cats in Dundee.Last month a woman saw a black puma-like animal running alongside the road in the west end.
There were also sightings in Charleston arid Broughty Ferry.
Before the Dundee sightings, big cats had been spotted in Angus and the highlands. One farmer near Monifieth, Mrs Shirley Kerr, lost a sheep to a carnivore.
