Report from Chris Smith
1976, Strathnaver, Sutherland
Hugh Mackay, a crofter who had lost a number of sheep, and local milkman Alistair McLean were out shooting foxes when they saw a large animal running across the moors. Mr McLean said, 'It was broad in the back, strongly built and very fast. I thought it was a dull rusty colour and was convinced it was big game.'.
