Report from Ronnie Patterson
Mrs. Janet Knox of Thornhill Dumfriesshire reported seeing a big black cat, this is her account of what she saw. "I saw a puma in the autumn of 1975 near Kilmarnock. My mother, myself and my little daughter were picking blackberries from a hedgerow beside an old un-tarred road, when a puma appeared on the road about 100 yards ahead of us. It stood still and watched us for several seconds and we thought at first it was a black Labrador dog, but when it walked away in to the woods we could see its long tail and cat-like way of walking."
