Island hedgehog toll reaches 34

Scottish Natural Heritage yesterday said that it had taken four more hedgehogs, bringing the total culled on North Uist to 34. A spokesman said that two pointer dogs brought to the island at the weekend had spent Monday getting used to the conditions and training but were put to work yesterday.
