Report from Chris Smith
I in the early 80's encountered a large cat, and on numerous occasions was able to approach the nearly jet black cat the size of a large collie dog appeared to have brownish spots. It always over the course of several weeks appeared in the same area it showed little fear and tended to find me rather than me having to look for it. I walked for approximately three miles and the cat would follow in a path nearly parallel with my own I found it a indescribable experience a blend of fear and excitement you felt as if you were being stalked but when you stopped and faced the cat it would freeze even taking a age to put its paw down on the ground. This all took place in an area described as rabbit to the locals which is situated in a small valley running parallel to the river Spey between the village of Mosstodloch and Garmouth about one and half miles from the Red Kirk. There have been a number of reported sightings in the Garmouth area over the years and am sorry I have not spoken up to support these people but I went for years keeping this secret to myself not wanting media attention or to have try and convince these know-all sceptics. I consider the time's I spent with this animal to be a privilege and a lifetimes experience. This letter is for the others who have had big cat encounters you are not alone. For the so called experts this is not a feral cat interbred with a wildcat you lot need to wakeup!!!
