Report from Chris Smith
I read with interest your article in the Sunday Post of yesterday.
I, myself, have seen a black feline like creature twice. It is mentioned in the attached.
I am local correspondent for The Oban Times so my attached
article may be of some help.
Good hunting,
Regards,
Marilyn Henderson.
A large, black, feline like creature has made its appearance in Kilchrenan, yet again.
Last week, there were three separate sightings of this elusive creature. One resident of Kilchrenan was driving to a friend's house, "Achnacraobh," when something caught her eye. When she slowed down to first gear, this large, black, cat-like creature jumped from the undergrowth, ran behind her car and then proceeded to bound alongside it then disappeared into the undergrowth and trees on the other side of the track.
About three miles further along in the village, one resident who was loathe to tell anyone in case she was not believed, saw it in one of her fields. The description matched that of the previous sighting.
The other sighting was again close to "Achnacraobh".
Last year, one was seen rummaging through a litter bag and jumping over a garden wall in the centre of Kilchrenan.
This is not the first time that this animal, or is there now a pack of them, has been seen in the area. A few years ago the Christie family from Kilchrenan saw it , three times which lead to an investigation and interview by BBC Radio Scotland.
The Secretary of the Community Council has been in touch with two mammal recorders and is hoping for a result in tracking down this strange creature.
