Large cat-like animal puts dogs to flight near Hawick
Around 1998 - 1999
I was speaking with a well known local. He was walking his two large dogs with a friend near Hawick three years ago. He became aware of something about 100 yds away but couldn't make out what it was. The dogs went to investigate. They about turned and headed back fast after looking at what was in some undergrowth. Something large and cat-like leapt away and wasn't seen again. He said the dogs are fearless but met their match that night and to this day he's convinced a Big Cat was around.
