Report from Ralph Barnett
DENISE MacPHIE, of Kintore, Aberdeenshire, believes the recent freezing weather led to her having a terrifying encounter with a six-foot mountain lion in the driveway of her rural home.
Accountant Denise (37) said, 'I was just stunned and couldn't believe my eyes as I saw this huge creature just yards away from me. The only way I could describe it is as a mountain lion.'
She had pulled into her driveway and was about to leave her car when the driveway's anti-burglar lights came on. She stared in amazement as the
mountain lion crossed the driveway and slipped into the night.
'It was four foot long with a two foot tail,'' she said. 'It was only seven yards from the car. I saw it face-on and its fur was a sandy colour.''
A neighbour said several rubbish sacks had been burst open recently and her cat refuses to go outside.
