Report from Chris Smith
Date and Time: 15 th February 01.30
Location: on A9, 4 miles south of Birnam junction, at start of section of dual carriageway, on north bound carriageway.
Description: About 2 feet high, dark in colour, probably black. Standing with mouth open and teeth clearly visible. Rounded head with short snout.
Movement: none
Noise: none
Distance: 4m at closest, seen from same level
Weather: dry, dark but with moonshine
Reference: internet search
Additional: The animal was caught in the headlights of my vehicle, standing at the roadside facing traffic. Road was very quiet at the time. I've considered other possibilities, badger, roe deer, muntjac, even labrador, but had to discount them all due to shape or colouring.
