Large black cat seen on Ayr bypass
21 st February 2003
Date and Time: Friday 21/02/2003. 01.30 hours.
Location: Sandyford junction on the A77 heading northward on dual carriageway.
PO ref: KA9.
On Ayr bypass.
Description: black.
2.5 feet high (approx)
Long body.
Squat type face.
Long tail, maybe slightly shorter than body length. Back curved down.
Movement: walking , head foward slightly lowered as if looking at something.
Crossed carriageway and went into darkness of field.
Noise: no.
Duration: six seconds (approx)
Distance: 150 to 200 yards initially. Was driving towards it at approx 60 miles per hour.
Weather: dry.
Dark.
Animal seen due to driving lights and new roundabout lights where it crossed carriageway
Reference: daughter advised me to report sighting.
