Report from David Nelson via Chris Smith
Experts believe the lynx will head for forest areas.
A lynx has escaped from a Scottish wildlife park.
Police are urging people not to approach the animal, which is about the size of a labrador and has black tufts on its ears.
It is not considered a danger unless it is cornered.
The animal was reported missing from the Kirkcudbright Wildlife Park, Dumfries and Galloway, on Tuesday.
Experts predict the animal will head for forest areas and stay clear of towns and villages.
It is thought the animal went missing between Monday and 1000 GMT on Tuesday.
