Report from Chris Smith
A LYNX has escaped from a wildlife park, police said last night.
The animal was found to be missing from Kirkcudbright Wildlife Park
yesterday morning and members of the public were asked to report any sightings, although the cat was not considered a danger unless cornered.
Police said the animal could have gone missing any time between early on Sunday morning and 10am yesterday.
Experts expect the cat will head for forest areas and will stay clear
of towns and villages. The public were advised not to approach the
animal or attempt to capture it.
Fawn-coloured with black tufts on its ears, the lynx is about the
size of a Labrador dog.
