Report from George Redpath
During April 2002, a male witness was locking up for the night when his attention was drawn to a wooded area near Innerleithen where a flock of crows were making a unusual noise.
As he walked towards the area he saw a large Brown/Grey coloured cat going under a space under a gate and into the woods. The cat is described as being about labrador dog size, either mottled or patchy coloured, with pointed ears and a short stumpy tail.
He did not report his sighting at the time, however he has heard of further sightings of cats in the same area on 21/07/02 and 25/07/02 and is concerned following reports of domestic cats going missing in the Borders area.
The other sightings of cats in the area were of Black Cats although both were in poor light and the witness believes that the three sightings could be of the same cat.
