Report from Phebe Cooper
A second big cat was spotted in Renfrewshire hours after another was seen prowling the grounds of a nearby psychiatric hospital.
Robert Law says he saw what he thinks was a wild lynx prowling around a playpark in Paisley on Wednesday.
Earlier in the evening staff at Merchiston Hospital in Johnstone spotted what they said was a puma roaming the grounds there.
Vets with tranquillisers were put on standby and a police helicopter and vehicles searched the area to no avail.
Mr Law told the Paisley Daily Express he was looking out of a window at his home when he saw the animal crawl from a fence bordering Durrockstock Park.
He said: "I know what I saw and it was definitely a large lynx-like creature. It had a distinctive square-shaped face, big ears, long legs and a stealthy, loping walk. I didn't imagine it."
He says he'll look around the park for traces of paw prints or carcasses of dead animals which the lynx could have been eating.
