Report from Nick Wirsten
THE Borders has been hit with another sighting of a large black cat.
The beast was spotted just outside Clovenfords by local SNP PR guru Lisa Brown as she travelled home from Peebles recently.
Lisa, who is Parliamentary Assistant to South of Scotland MSP Christine Grahame, had been attending the politician's recent adoption meeting where SNP Leader John Swinney had given his backing to Ms Grahame's selection as Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the region ahead of next May's Holyrood election.
She told the "Border Telegraph":
"I was just coming out towards the 30 miles-per-hour signs at the Galashiels end of Clovenfords, on my way back from Peebles. We were passing a cul-de-sac on the left and it bounded across the road in front of me.
"I knew it wasn't a dog because it had a long tail. I said 'Oh my God, what's that' and then I pulled into the cul-de-sac to have a look, but I couldnŐt see anything."
This latest sighting comes only weeks after the "Border Telegraph" revealed possible sightings of a large cat on Gala Hill.
