Collie-sized black cat seen near Biggar

20 th January 2002, approx 15:00. A721 at Gilburn farm (between Elsrickle and Newbigging).
Large black cat, approx size of Collie dog. Seen by myself whilst driving the Land Rover and my grandson Andrew.
Have not mentioned it locally as gun-happy neighbours would be after it.

Weather: Sunshine between showers, good visibility.
Description: Collie sized, cat like, all black.
3 ft long body with 1 ft long tail.
Seen from a distance of 25m crossing a road.
Sighting lasted 30-40 seconds.
Special Observations: None. Just a big black cat, just like the your animated ones.
My Grandson and I were hauling loads of hay to our small holding and were astonished at the size of the cat. It was very much bigger than felix domesticus, slightly bigger than a fox I saw on our next trip an hour or so later.
