Two big cat sightings at Galston

Is it possible for a big cat to kill or eat a collie? My small collie bitch has gone missing without a trace.
My neighbour recently had a sighting of the big cat in their garden. The cows on another neighbouring farm have been spooked all weekend resulting in the cows jumping out of the field on several occassions.
About 6 weeks ago my horses were spooked in the field next to Cessnock woods in Galston, a mechanic working at the farm thought he saw a black labrador dog entering the field, when he walked up the old road he said it looked like a big cat which jumped the hedge around the field and disappeared. This was around midday and the weather was dry.
I would appreciate any info that you can give to me.
