Report from George Markie
More sightings of the mysterious Monikie big cat have been reported from near the area where it was seen on Sunday.
A Monikie man said today he and his mother both saw the animal as they were travelling towards Dundee in broad daylight on Saturday morning.
They said the creature they saw exactly matched the description given by Carolann Curran, who saw a big black cat with "a blunt face", a body about the size of a Staffordshire bull terrier, longer legs than the average domestic cat and a long thick tail.
She made her sighting late on Sunday night near the new houses at Ballumbie.
The man who saw the cat on Saturday said he too had been amazed by the cat's long thick tail.
"We were driving about 40 mph on the long straight, before you cut left at Monikie Village, about 11 am.
"A black cat jumped on to the road and did not move away like you would expect a normal cat to," he added.
"It just sat there, not even looking at us, before jumping into a field. I slowed to try to see where it had gone, but it had disappeared."
