Animal heard in undergrowth at Crombie Park

I was talking to a lecturer at work and he mentioned that he was jogging up by Crombie park early in the morning on the same day as this sighting and is convinced that something was following him. He said it was very quiet and he could hear something moving through the undergrowth.
Crombie Park is only two miles north of where the sighting occurred and the disused railway runs past it.
