Report from David Knox via Phil Crosby
Report of a cat spotted at the weekend a mile outside Ancrum - it was around 5 pm (hence daylight) when the daughter of the house (she's 21) was in the kitchen and spotted movement by a hedge around 25 metres away.
It moved away from hedge and into clearer light and she described it as a cat around 3 ft long with a 2 foot tail, i.e. total length around 5 ft.
She said it was muscular but lithe, and brownish in colour.
She called her parents through and the three of them watched for several minutes.
The only difference in descriptions is the father believes it was darker.
