Big cat seen on Black Isle

9 July 2001, 6.30pm A lady was riding a horse through woods on the Black Isle just north of Inverness.
The horse was startled by a black creature close to the trail in the woods.
She stopped to look at it and saw a black cat like creature about 2 and a half feet high and with a body three feet long rush into the woods.
She said it was much larger than a domestic cat and had much thicker fur - almost bear like in texture.
