Large Black Cat seen on Kirkcudbright to Gelston Road

On Tuesday, Kirkcudbright to Gelston at 8:25 am, I saw a very large black panther like cat. It was crossing the road in front of me, maybe 30 to 40 yards away.
I recognised it was a panther by the way it held its tail, colour and size. It paid no attention to my car's approach and disappeared quickly. The sighting was very near to a farm.
