Report from Chris Smith
Another sighting has been made of a large cat-like creature south of Inverness, adding weight to suspicions
that a big cat may be living wild in the area.
Fraser Campbell, leaseholder of Drumnadrochit Hotel, spotted the animal on the A82 Inverness to Fort William road on the outskirts of Drumnadrochit.
He had just left his home at Temple Cottage, Temple Pier, to lock-up the hotel at about 11.30pm.
He said: "I normally see quite a lot of domestic cats on the way home but this was like a black Labrador dog but bigger with a tail 3-4ft long.
"I saw its glistening eyes first and it was definitely feline. It slinked, turned, and looked at me but it didn't seem scared.
"It looked at the lights of the car for a while and then slinked up through the grass and went up to the fields behind our house." He added: "It was a bit of a shock. I have lived here 10 years and I have never seen the Loch Ness monster. People have said to me that I must have seen a big Labrador, but it was definitely a cat."
There have been several recent sightings of a large cat-like creature in the Kiltarlity area, north of Drumnadrochit. A number of sheep were found dead at Boblainy Forest and sightings have been made near Stagecoach boss, Ann Gloag's home at Beaufort, near Beauly.
