Report from David Walker
My girlfriend and I witnessed a large black cat in Central Scotland. We were on a long weekend in the Glenshee area about a mile south of the ski slopes. The day, Saturday 01 July 2000. We were walking on the track up from the Spittal of Glenshee hotel to the Dalmunzie hotel. The weather was good, clear visability,it was around 10.00 am. First caught sight and asked my girlfriend, to confirm at what we were witnessing. We were walking the hotels springer spaniel Ben, who laid quietly on the gound watching the cat. It was completely black, walked low to the ground, long curled tail. It walked slowly. There were sheep in the fields which did not panic but moved slowly out of its way. We both watched the black cat for around three miutes as it moved slowly over the side of the glen back towards the tree line. We did report the sighting to the Dalmunzie hotel owner who appeared sceptical to our sighting but he imformed us that he would see his gamekeeper. But we both know what we saw that day.
