Report from Chris Smith
I have just finished night shift at a distillery in Dufftown. At about five in the morning I started to run low on cooling water and asked my workmate to go and check the water intake for possible blocks The water intake is located about a mile from Dufftown. 20 minutes later my mate returned and was white as a sheet. He got to the intake which is down an embankment covered with trees and was down clearing the intake mesh of leaves when he saw something running towards him which at first he thought was a small deer. The encounter lasted just a couple of seconds but he says he saw a very large cat with a kind of brown speckled coat with a very large black tail with a white tip chasing a rabbit. He says it it didn't even see him as its eyes were fixed on its prey. He estimates its size to be about that of a very large dog. I was just wondering if you had any idea of breed of cat it would possibly be?
