Report from George Markie
A former Royal Marine yesterday told of his sighting of Carnoustie's "big cat". Chic Grant was driving along a deserted country road on the outskirts of the town on Thursday evening when he saw a large cat-like creature by the side of the road. "I was driving up the road to Scryne when, in the headlights, I saw a pair of eyes glowing," he told the Courier. "As I approached it stood up, and the thing that sticks in my mind most is the tail. "It was a curved, feline tail and I am in no doubt that this was a big cat of some description.'
(The article then goes on to repeat the previous sighting and highlight the opinions of a local who wants to tether some prey and shoot the cat with a tranquiliser dart.)
