Report from George Markie
Greenkeeper Alistair Malcolm was working on Buddon Golf Links when he saw a "large black cat-like creature" from a distance of two hundred yards.
It ran across the fairway and disappeared into woodland.
It was described as being bigger than a Labrador with a long tail and a short nose.
Another greenkeeper reported finding a dead swan with its head missing, the following day the swan had been eaten leaving only a carcass.
