Puma seen near area where Felicity was captured

Early summer 1998

I saw a puma early summer 1998 very close to Affric Lodge, near Cannich. We looked at each other for a while and then it ran away.

Colour like a lion, very light brown. Initially I thought it was a boxer dog. About same size. Approx. 60 cm high.

Further information:

When it turned to stare at me I noticed it was a cat. Later I thought that it might have been a bobcat/lynx but concluded that the cat I saw was larger. Sorry but I can't recall the tail which would have confirmed the id.

We stared at each other for a few seconds then I whistled at it and it bounded away over the heather. Cats jump over;dogs run through. It was within sight of Cannich Lodge at the deer gate on north side of the loch.

We were about 40 meters apart. It was May or June at about 5 or 6 pm. GoodÊvisibility although quite dull.

I was brought up in Tanzania and have seen plenty of cats. I also have a degree in zoology.

Has this cat been sighted before or since?
