Mysterious cat seen near Plean

Approx May 1997

A mysterious cat-like animal was reported near Plean, a few miles north-west of Falkirk.

Graeme was driving towards Stirling when he caught sight of an animal in the undergrowth by the side of the road.

He said: "It was about 3 feet tall and black - there was no way it was a dog".

He stopped the car to have a look, from ten yards away he had a good view.

"It stood up right next to me, and it was a puma.

It was black and moved very quickly, there was no mistaking it."

Police searched the area but found nothing.
