Large black cat seen at Luthermuir
Extract from Angus Man Comes Face-to-Face With Big Cat

While reporting a sighting of a large black cat in Angus in 2001, Neil Wood of Little Brechin, described a sighting from 1997:
Mr Wood is convinced the beast is the same as the animal he saw at Luthermuir, around four years ago. On that occasion he got even closer to the sleek-looking cat as it crossed the road in front of his car.
Last night he said, "I was going to Edzell to pick up my wife and about a mile from the town I saw it lying on top of a dry-stane dyke.
"It was like a panther - jet black with a head like a football. I had seen it four years ago at Luthermuir and I was closer to it then. It was only about three feet from the car.
"It's quite an impressive sight at about four feet long. There's definitely no mistaking it."
