Note from Chris Smith. Blairgowrie is in Perthshire and Kinross. It is the last town of any size on the A93 north to Balmoral (Deeside, Aberdeenshire), but is many miles from the Queen's summertime home.

In September 1996, a former Glasgow Zoo consultant was among those who reported a black beast around Blairgowie, near Balmoral. No creature was ever found.....
A puma was caught near Inverness in 1993. Another was captured in 1980 near Aviemore.
