A big cat fitting the description of others spotted in various parts of Scotland over recent years, has been spotted on the esplanade in Broughty Ferry.
The animal was spotted on January 18 th, 1996, only a few hundred yards from occupied houses. A motorist claimed that he caught the animal in his headlights as it crossed the road towards the railway line. It was described as the size of a large dog but with a cats body and a huge grey tail that trailed along the ground. The animal appeared to be furry with pointed ears.
Only last year a local couple were walking their dog when it disturbed a puma-like animal with a black coat, which also ran off towards the nearby railway line.
