Report from Mark Fraser
George was returning from work at Spillers the time being Apr. 6.30am. He was heading towards Irvine and was about one and three quarters miles from the town near the Torn Yard Inn.
He first noticed greenish, yellowish eyes shining in the dark belonging to a large cat-like animal crouching on the road side staring at the car.
The animal was dark fawn/tawny in colour. The animal then ran into the adjoining fields, its tail being the last thing that he saw.
On first approaching the animal George thought the eyes belonged to a fox, he was a hundred yards away when he first saw the eyes.
