Large Black cat seen at Helensburgh

Weather conditions dry / clear/ no wind
Sighting details I was up feeding friends horses one evening when one of them an old Welsh pony came flying across the field in a panic.
I followed him and looked in the same direction.
He was staring in fear at a large jet black cat.
I guess he was 6 feet long with yellow eyes.
The strange thing was that the sheep weren't fightened of him.
He looked at me briefly and trotted off across the field.
