Have come across your site and thought you might like to record an old sighting which I made in October 1991.
I was driving home at 11.30pm from Cumbernauld to Glenboig and had turned off the Glasgow/Stirling road at Moodiesburn.
I drove to the top of the hill and down into the valley. A local farmer had been encouraging people to fill in a hole in his field which he later used as a road into his farmhouse and scavengers (Birds, foxes etc) often poked around it.
I saw in my headlights what I first though was a black greyhound walking across the road heading to the tip. It stopped and looked at the car and I noticed the large green eyes. I then thought that it was more feline than canine.
It had a long tail and bounded away rather than ran which made me even more convinced it was feline. I did not report it at the time.
It appeared smaller than a greyhound and it was its sleek shape that confused me at the start. It was dark (blackish) in colour with a long dark tail.
The witness also described sightings from Resta and Be Thankful in the 1950s and Corstorphine around 1996 to 1998.
