Exact date unknown Dallas, Moray Kellas cats. Jet black and no bigger than the average Scottish wildcat Three black cats shot. One identified as a wildcat in December 1984

Beginning of year Fountainhall, Midlothian Puma sighted Perhaps same sighting as 16 th may at Penicuik?

16 May Disused railway nr Penicuik, Midlothian Puma. Colour and size of lioness, with a long tail Prowling about on the hillside for 5 minutes.

Early June Garvald Mains Farm nr Gifford, East Lothian Twenty inches high with a long body and a tail measuring about three feet. Dark grey in colour with a dark sheen along its back. Large rounded ears lay back on its head and its jaw constantly opened and closed Stalking sheep in a field. Seen at less than 40 ft. Failed police search.

Early June Nunraw Abbey, nr Gifford, East Lothian Similar animal Seen running across a field by a monk. Sheep killed at weekend
