Large tan-cat like animal seen on Nairn to Inverness road

Christmas eve, 1981, Nairn to Inverness Road, Nairn-shire
1.00 am. Just west of junction with access road to MacDermott's site, headlights picked up figure of an animal crossing road. It turned to face the oncoming vehicle and its eyes shone very brightly in the beam. Larger and heavier built than a Labrador dog, tan to light brown in colour and with a long thick tail. (Mororist).
